Kyrgyzstan gives Tajik airline permission to use its airspace

Kyrgyzstan has given permission to use its airspace for flights on the Dushanbe-Urumqi-Dushanbe route. This was announced on February 3 by the State Civil Aviation Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the agency, the Tajik airline Somon Air requested to provide them with airspace from February 8 to March 21, 2023 for flights on the Dushanbe-Urumqi-Dushanbe route, and also on February 5, 2023 for flights on the Dushanbe-Novosibirsk route. — Dushanbe.

In May 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan introduced temporary restrictions for citizens of Tajikistan on entry and exit, stay, movement and transit through the territory of Kyrgyzstan. This decision was made after an armed conflict broke out on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on April 28-30 , as a result of which 154 people were injured, 36 were killed , including two children. Tajik authorities officially announced 19 dead and 87 wounded.

After the introduction of restrictions, the aircraft of Somon Air, after four hours of waiting at the Manas airport, together with the passengers, was sent back to Tajikistan. Then 177 citizens of Tajikistan were banned from entering the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
