Eurasianet is looking for a highly motivated journalist in Armenia to carry on our strong coverage of the country and write regular news blog posts and feature stories.
The Armenia correspondent writes several stories per week on the most urgent political, social and economic issues facing Armenia and the South Caucasus region as a whole. The Armenia correspondent works closely with Eurasianet’s team of local reporters based in Azerbaijan and Georgia under the supervision of the Caucasus editor.
Candidates should have:
- Experience doing critical, analytical journalism
- Deep knowledge of Armenian politics, economy, and society
- An eagerness to work with colleagues from other countries
- Strong written English, fluency in Armenian and proficiency in Russian
- Demonstrated ability to function independently, showing initiative
- Flexibility with changing situations or needs throughout the week
- Ability to multitask under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with best practices for digital security, adhering to Eurasianet guidelines
- An unbending commitment to upholding traditional watchdog journalistic standards
The ideal candidate will be based in Yerevan and will be expected to produce content in English.
