Tajikistan and Russia will be able to achieve a threefold increase in trade. This opinion was expressed on Tuesday by the first deputy chairman of the Majlisi milli (upper house) of the Majlisi Oli (parliament) of Tajikistan Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, the press service of the parliament reports.
“We now have [trade turnover of more than] $1.5 billion. We will reach, God forbid, 5 billion, we will raise this trade turnover, we will increase it three times,” he said at a meeting of the Commission for Cooperation of the Federation Council and the Majlisi Milli, held in Moscow.
Ahmadzoda also noted that relations between Russia and Tajikistan “are distinguished by a high level of trust, consistent mutual support and friendship.”
He recalled that in 2022 Tajikistan and Russia celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
“Over this period, we have developed a solid baggage of interaction in various fields,” he noted, and stressed that inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries had reached a qualitatively new level.
