The famous Tajik footballer and coach Rashid Rakhimov is returning to football after a long break, Sport-Express reports.
According to the publication, Rubin agreed to sign a contract with Rashid Rakhimov before the end of the season with the possibility of extending the agreement if the club enters the RPL.
Probably on Wednesday Rubin will announce the resignation of Yuri Utkulbaev and the appointment of a new coach.
Rakhimov is 58 years old, the last time he was the coach of Ufa, from which he left in April 2021.
Previously, he coached the Admiral, Lokomotiv, Amkar and Akhmat teams.
Kazan “Rubin” takes the second place in the standings of the first league, gaining 47 points in 26 rounds.
