Belarus, Tajikistan Sign Plan of Ministerial Consultations for 2023-2024

Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik arrived in Samarkand, Uzbekistan for a meeting of the CIS Ministerial Council, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Sergei Aleinik met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin of Tajikistan. The parties reviewed the status of the agreements reached following the official visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Tajikistan in October 2022.

The ministers also examined the state and dynamics of the development of Belarus-Tajikistan relations in areas of primary interest. The main emphasis was placed on trade and economic cooperation, industrial cooperation, humanitarian interaction, and mutual support in international organizations.

“The relations between our leaders, governments, ministries of foreign affairs once again emphasize the close, mutually respectful, trusting nature of the interaction between Belarus and Tajikistan,” Sergei Aleinik said.

Following the meeting, the heads of the foreign ministries of Belarus and Tajikistan signed a plan of ministerial consultations for 2023-2024.

When in Samarkand Sergei Aleinik is set to meet with the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and participate in the meeting of the CIS Ministerial Council.
