Sixteen months into the job, Vahan Hunanyan has resigned as Armenia’s foreign minister.
Hunanyan, in a statement, didn’t specify why he’s leaving the post.
“It was not easy, but we moved forward with united efforts. All this time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has worked 120% to overcome the many security and other challenges facing our country and will surely continue to do so until we reach a peaceful harbor,” Hunanyan wrote.
Hunanyan is to be replaced by Ani Badalyan, who had been serving as head of the ministry’s European Department’s European Union Division.
