Armenian Foreign Minister holds meeting in German Bundestag

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Germany on a working visit, met with Johann Wadephul, chairman of Germany-South Caucasus Friendship Group of German Bundestag on February 6, the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.

Minister Mirzoyan presented details about the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, which emerged as a result of Azerbaijan’s blockade of the Lachin corridor, and stressed the need for the partner states to take clear steps to lift the blockade. Both sides stressed the importance of close Armenian-German inter-parliamentary cooperation both at bilateral and multilateral levels.

The mutual visits of the friendship groups acting in the parliaments of two countries were highlighted. The sides also discussed issues related to the Armenia-EU interaction, including the support for democratic reforms in Armenia and in the context of the regional stability, and the issues of the EU new long-term monitoring mission in Armenia. The sides also exchanged views on the settlement of the Armenian-Turkish relations.
