Armenia, Hungary agree to restore full diplomatic relations after 10-year hiatus


Armenia and Hungary have agreed to restore full diplomatic relations after a 10-year suspension, according to a joint statement published on Thursday.

The statement said that non-resident ambassadors will be appointed to explore development opportunities between the two countries, especially in the fields of trade, culture, education and tourism.

The respective foreign ministers met on the sidelines of an OSCE meeting in Poland, where they expressed their intention to open a new chapter in their relations, based on mutual trust and respect for international law.
