For the first ten days of the conscription campaign in Tajikistan, the conscription plan was fulfilled by 40%, the press center of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan reports.
In the cities and districts of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, they have already reported on the implementation of the plan by 100%.
In the city of Dushanbe, the draft campaign was completed by 30%, in the districts of republican subordination – by 57%, in the Khatlon region – by 34%, in the Sughd region – by 26%.
In the current spring conscription campaign, young people born in 1996-2005 are called up for service.
In Tajikistan, twice – in the spring and autumn, male citizens from 18 to 27 years old are called up for military service.
The spring conscription begins on April 1 and lasts until the end of May, and the autumn conscription begins in early October, which ends at the end of November.
In 2021, the parliament of Tajikistan in a new edition adopted the law “On military duty and military service”, according to which, from now on, citizens of military age, having paid a certain amount, can undergo military service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the republic within a month.
The cost of paying for alternative service in the army is 420 calculation indicators (one indicator is 68 somoni).
The admission of citizens to alternative military service is carried out within the established quota, and if a larger number of conscripts apply, they can be involved in the service in the next call.
